You get the chance to affect millions of Nigerians as a sport personality. Sport remains one of the things that brings us together as Nigerians. Sports men representing their countries have very huge tasks as the hope of the country rests on their shoulders on certain occasions.

Besides, they get paid really well and live like kings and queens. Sport brands fall over themselves to get them as brand ambassadors. An acute rise in more talented sports men is predicted in coming years. For now, we have brought out the sports personalities who have done really well on the global scene and have begun to attract lots of fans. Here’s our list:


kelechi-iheanacho-sportsKelechi Ihenacho: Super talented young Manchester City striker who only got his first team shirt this football season. Kelechi has quite some awards for his age. He won the Golden ball award for player of the tournament in the FIFA Under-17 World Cup tournament in 2013. He also won the CAF Award for the Most Promising talent of the year, 2013. Kelechi is on course to becoming a sensation for his club as he has scored 4 goals already in the Barclays Premier League.




Blessing Okagbare: Talking about a super athlete. Blessing Okagbare was the African 100 metres and long jump champion back in 2010. She’s being regarded to as the fastest African female athlete. Blessing became the brand ambassador for Nike in 2015.




MIkel obi sportsMikel John Obi: Already a veteran in the football world. The star-studded footballer has been on the lips of Nigerians for quite a while now. Mikel played a vital role as part of the Nigerian national team that became finalists in the FIFA World Youth Championships held in the Netherlands in 2005.  Mikel also was key in the Nigerian Super Eagles that shot to glory in the African Cup of Nations back in 2013. Mikel currently plays for Chelsea and has won a lot of titles in the club. That being said, he has also worked with a lot of football managers in his career.



asisat-oshoala-sportsAsisat Oshoala: Asisat sure knows how to play football. In such a short time, she has risen to become one of the hottest female football players in Africa and around the world. Asisat was the best player and the highest goal scorer in the FIFA Under-20 Womens World Cup. She was also named best player and second top goal scorer with the Super Falcons team who won the 2014 African Women’s Championship. She currently plays for Arsenal Ladies Football club. Being a young girl with amazing talent, we expect Asisat to become one of the greatest female football players in Nigeria.




Seye Ogunlewe: A really talented sprinter and currently one of the fastest athletes in Nigeria. Seye was a finalist in the 100 metres and 4 × 100 metres at the 2015 All-Africa Games. He won the 100 m at the Nigerian Championships in 2015 and 2016. He recently won the 100 m in a personal best of 10.12 seconds at the Nigerian Championships. He sure is poised for greatness.




Ahmed Musa: Not into athletics but Musa is one of the fastest footballers in the world. His burst of speed always leaves defenders in awe. Musa has also been playing professional football for quite a while and he recently joined league winners – Leicester City. Well, as achievements are concerned, Musa is the first Nigerian to score more than once in a FIFA World Cup match after scoring twice against Argentina in the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
